Kate Beckinsale was born in Finsbury Park, London, on 26th July, 1973. She is the daughter of actor, Richard Beckinsale and Judy Loe. Kate Beckinsale learnt French and Russian literature at New College, Oxford University, but was able to finish her degree. Her acting career began with a role in One Against the Wind, a television film about World War II in 1991. The most acclaimed role and role that made Kate Beckinsale famous all over world was the lead role in Blockbuster "Pearl Harbour" in 2001. She did many other famous movies like "Underworld", "Van Helsing", "Aviator" and "Underworld : Evolution". She has appeared for many years in the list of 100 sexiest woman in the world and is Esquire Magazine's Sexiest Woman Alive 2009.
